CHERYL - In some places there is only one lodging available so you'd probably be wise to book those in advance.  If there's only one or two of you, the rest of the time 
you'd probably be able to walk in but you might have to visit a couple of places to find a room in high season

CHERYL:  This really depends on the type of accommodation, whether you include transport or guide.  Our two Turkey adventures were $2400 each for 2 weeks each, essentailly 
everything included except airfare.  If you're just buying lodging, you might pay from 30 euros to 100 euros including dinner and breakfast.

CHERYL:  Yes, if they weren't with us the whole time we wouldn't have gained the benefit from having a guide:  explaining the history hidden along the path, taking us to
the most interesting places we might not otherwise know about, introducing us to the culture, helping with the language

CHERYL:  We cancelled this trip twice, for spring 2020 and spring 2021, because covid levels were high as well as travel restrictions.  We watched closely and this time
Turkey's covid levels were low and all their restrictions were lifted so we decided to go.  We carried extra self tests, wore masks in crowded places, and had to get an antigen
test before flying home, but otherwise there was little evidence of covid or covid-precautions anywhere we went.

CHERYL:  See above for cost of typical lodging.  A meal might cost the equivalent of 5 to 30 dollars in Turkish lira (the lira is worth very little right now)

CHERYL:	 I read everything I could about the trails and archaelogical sections and then went back and forth with the outfitter who added the lodging, transport and any other
logistics considerations and made their own suggestions, until we reached agreement within our time and budget constraints.

CHERYL:  In the 60s unless we were in the shallows in which case it was a bit warmer.

CHERYL:  Our 2015 trip included a lot more walking through villages and rural life and we did more longer walking days; but didn't have the fun stops at our guide's 'friends' 
places for food and some of the special less known historical sites that were included in 2022.  Would love to have both!  But maybe would take more time than we have.  Each
guided trip reflects the knowledge and preferences of the guide (and this year's guide was WAY better!)
